Mistuba is the best udon restaurant around there ! Sugiura-san, the owner, is really nice and will help you through your order. Nice Shochu collection.

Parks & Nature

Good hiking from the house : Take the direction to the dam, then take the path to Mt Mistumori-zan (check the characters !) First part is about paddy fields, then mountain and forest. If not enough, you can then keep on to Mt Suisho-zan. Half a day for the big course maybe.
