Step right outside the Jewelz Cabin back door and you can hike through the National Forest. Or just down the road on the 64, towards Taos is Divisidero (right) and South Boundary trail (left), Parking on left.
Try the trails along the SR150 on the way to the ski valley. Yerba, Manzanita, Italianos and Gavillan. Also, hike to Williams Lake. Drive up to the Bavarian parking lot at the top of the ski valley and this hike is a well traveled trail to a beautiful lake at 11,040 ft. Trail starts at about 10,000 ft.
