Go to the rooftop of the hotel, the lounge is called "The Press". This place is literally around the corner from the apartment, but seriously the BEST view of the city. Hands down. In addition, the best part about this place, is that it is not crazy busy and typically won't need to wait to get in. Although, it has been getting discovered, so if you go there late night on the weekend, maybe you will. But relatively speaking, for a rooftop that has an awesome view like this, I would consider it DEAD empty. Go there for at least a drink and check it out, you wont be sorry.

This is the place to go to a comedy show. Small, cozy and iconic comedy club that is known for many NY local stand up comedians, such as Louis CK. One time, before Louis was famous, he randomly came went on stage and crashed the planned schedule with his set. Even then, Louis was one of the club's favorites, so no one stopped him. Know that he is famous, I can sey I saw him before he got big :)

Its an awesome food-court type of place, less than 5 minute walk away from the apartment. Has park bench type of seating, with lots of variety of top notch restaurants to pick from. Must try ramen by renowned ramen guru.

On weekend nights there could be a little wait but usually under 15 min. I go here at least once a week. Very simple great ramen place. Cash Only

This is a small plates eclectic Japanese join and guarantee you will have an experience to tell your friends about. Warning - they may not speak much English, you may share a table with someone random, lots of sexual reference on the walls/menu and the best part... you get to make your own cotton candy for desert! Btw- check out one of those cardboard things with a face cut-out for photo opportunity just outside-- particularly the back side of it ;)

Solid High End modern stake house. The decor and vibe is awesome, but definitely for a special occasion type of date night. It's not cheap, but for a good steak place in Manhattan not too bad.

Gallery Hoping in Chelsea.
If you appreciate art, this is definitely a must. Every Thursday night at around 6pm - 8:30pm, there are tons and tons of gallery opening parties in this general area. There are literally, hundreds of galleries hidden in all of the warehouses right next to each other between 15th and 34th street, so go to 25th street and start wondering from there.
And did I mention there is lots of free wine? And once you get a little tipsy, be careful being too critical about the art, the artist is most likely standing right next to you.
