You can walk or jog along the Charles. You can even rent boats and kayaks when in season. There are benches and picnic tables along the path. Directions: Take Makin St to Western Ave, Cross Western Ave, turn left then goes straight. Turn right before the bridge at the river. Follow the path along the river.
