Töölönlahti is actually a bay of the sea though it looks like a lake. There's nice path all around it for jogging or just seeing the sights, like the Opera house, Finlandia hall, Music house, Kiasma museum of modern art, natural history museum and more. You can access it through Kaisaniemenpuisto nicely from Kruununhaka

UNESCO world heritage site, the Suomenlinna fortress can be reached by Ferry from the market square. Perfect destination for a day out in nature, exploring the historical islands, having a pick nick or eating in one of the local places on the island. The construction for the fortress began in 1747 and has since served for protection of Sweden, Russia and Finland in the course of history. The ferry trip is about 15-20 minutes for admiring the archipelago and seeing Helsinki from the sea. Highly recommended. Beware, it can be windy out there!

Unique architecture for one of Helsinki's newest public sauna's. It is worth the visit even for the building itself and has a restaurant and cafe for refreshments and meals. If you do indeed fancy trying the sauna, then worth booking in advance. You can try both the traditional and the smoke sauna as well as the 'mandatory' dip into the sea.
