Llanddwyn Island (Ynys Llanddwyn) is located at the far end of the beach near Newborough Warren, this narrow finger of land is an ideal picnic site during fine weather, but also an exhilarating place when the winter winds blow. Its rolling dunes, large rock outcrops and mixture of historic buildings makes it an ideal place for an afternoon of exploration.
Named after St Dwynwen, the Welsh patron saint of lovers.
This really is a magical and beautiful spot, but do check the tides before you cross the sand to the island as it is possible to get cut off during high tides.
