Good breakfast place on 22nd. Great beignets. Also, beware of any brunch places in SF on weekends. You have to get there before 10 if you want to wait less than an hour.

They redid the academy in recent years and it has great exhibits. It's also across from the De Young and the Japanese Tea Garden. It can get pretty touristy though so I'd try to go during the week.
