El Viti is a gret place a little further down on Passeo de Sant Joan from famous Granja Petitbo. It is great for tapas and vermut, with tables outside under the trees on Passeo de Sant Joan. I love this place.

A place to enjoy really fresh seafood -- crabs, prawns... You pick out what you want at the counter, it's weighed up and heaved away, and you pick it up crisp and steaming on a platter.

The best coffee in Barcelona, actually in Spain. Its a coffee lab. A coffee temple. For coffee lovers it is a must. This caffe 'Nomad Lab' in Passatge Sert is the first one, however now there are another 2-3 caffes of Nomad. 'Nomad Every Day' in Carrer de Joaquín Costa, 26 (Raval), and 'Nomad Roaster's Home' in Carrer de Pujades, 95 (Poble Nou).

Sightseeing

Its two streets up from the flat, and two to the right (looking up), so you are there in 3-5 minutes walk. I would recommend to go and see it once from outside, preferably late at evening when there are no tourists, and to see it inside, during opening hours. I am always nicely greeted by its towers whenever I am coming back home.

A must for architecture lovers. The Barcelona Pavilion, an emblematic work of the Modern Movement, had inspired, and continues to do so, several generations of architects. The Barcelona Pavilion was designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe as the German National Pavilion for the 1929 Barcelona International Exhibition, held on Montjuïc. Built from glass, steel and different kinds of marble, the Pavilion was conceived to accommodate the official reception presided over by King Alfonso XIII of Spain along with the German authorities. After the closure of the Exhibition, the Pavilion was disassembled in 1930. As time went by, it became a key point of reference not only in Mies van der Rohe’s own career but also in twentieth-century architecture as a whole. Given the significance and reputation of the Pavilion, thoughts turned towards its possible reconstruction. In 1980 Oriol Bohigas, as head of the Urban Planning Department at the Barcelona City Council, set the project in motion, designating architects Ignasi de Solà-Morales, Cristian Cirici and Fernando Ramos to research, design and supervise the reconstruction of the Pavilion. Work began in 1983 and the new building was opened on its original site in 1986.

Palace Macaya is 3-5 minutes walk from the apartment. Its another wonderful modernist palace, turned into a museum. For anybody interested in architecture, and modernist Barcelona, I would recommend it. Its opened Monday to Friday from 10: 00h to 14: 00h and again from 16: 00h to 20: 00h. In case you do not have much time but still wish to use little time you have to see something, this one is a convenient one, as its 3-5 minutes walk from the apartment. Its on Passeo Sant Joan, just above Diagonal, next to Verdaguer metro station.
