Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is about 45 min drive. They have exhibits suitable for ages 6 through adult. Check out the Rocket Garden and the IMAX theater. I always go to the Mars Rover exhibit while I'm there.
Check their website for launch viewing opportunities. While you can see launches from our backyard, sometimes it's nice to have the "guided tour", they are very informative.

Plays and live theater. They have a musical almost every month during the winter season. Around Halloween they have a live Rocky Horror Picture show, people come from all over the county for that and dress for the occasion.

Closest grocery store to the house. Nice, clean and well-stocked. Similar to Hannaford's in the northeast US. Publix Subs, made at the deli counter in the store, are a Florida specialty. In my opinion you can't beat new jersey subs, but this is the best we've got here in Florida.

This sage advice was the beginning of the Ron Jons Surf Shop empire. The store here in Cocoa Beach is the iconic first store. They are open 24/7 so it is also a great place to stop and get last-minute gifts. I have stopped there myself at 4am on my way to the airport.
