25 minute drive "Chef Sean Burt realized his life-long dream of owning his own restaurant when he opened Tooky Mills Pub and Restaurant in 1999. Since then "Tooky's" has become such a fixture in downtown Hillsborough that it seems like we've been here forever. There are few people in town who haven't met with friends at the bar, or maybe done a little business over lunch, or treated the family for a fun night out together and a great meal. Tooky Mills has just become part of Hillsborough!  Our menu offers a wide variety of homemade foods ranging from lighter fare to full entrees and gourmet desserts. Choose from soups, salads, appetizers, sandwiches, to hand carved beef selections, large variety of fresh seafood, to new world pasta dishes.  Come enjoy our great Blues selection while seated in our historical, rustic dining room or relax outside on the patio. To accompany your dinner, we also feature a wide selection of domestic beer, imported beer, wine and a full bar stocked with your favorite spirits. Whether you choose a refreshing ale, a mixed drink, or a fine wine to complement the flavors of your dish, we have something in our bar for you. Our friendly staff is waiting to meet you and will greet you with warm smiles. We will provide you with a memorable dining experience that will keep you coming back for more."

Outdoor Recreation

15 minute drive Pillsbury State Park is one of the more primitive and lesser known gems of the New Hampshire State Park system. Heavily wooded and sprinkled with several ponds and wetlands, its diversity of habitats makes it home to a great variety of wildlife, including moose and loons. Canoe and Kayak rentals are available. Crossed by a network of hiking and mountain bike trails, the park is an important link in the Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway, a 51-mile hiking trail that connects Mount Monadnock with Mount Sunapee to the north. History buffs enjoy exploring the park's long-abandoned and overgrown cellar holes, remnants of early farm settlement and lumbering of the late 1700s and early 1800s when the area was called Cherry Valley. Admission is $4 for adults; $2 for children ages 6-11; children ages 5 and under and NH residents age 65 and over are admitted free. Season passes are available. When park is unstaffed during the season, please use Iron Ranger (self-serve paystation).
