A wonderful place to stop for local BBQ. I recommend their turkey sandwich. The Granzin's family has been in New Braunfels for years, also enjoy their meat market and Naeglin's bakery. The oldest bakery in Texas.

Awesome customer service and great prices for having laundry washed while you stay at the cottage. It's also only 0.3 miles away or a 6 min walk. Makes not having a washer/dryer no problem at all!

My favorite spots in nature
Landa Park is an absolute gem in this town! I grew up going to their Thursday evening free concerts and still love to go as an adult. Enjoy walking around and being in one of the most picturesque parks in all of Texas.

This park is almost empty on the weekdays and on a beautiful stretch of the river.

Great spot to get in if you want to float the Comal River. If you are attempting to float on the weekend, I recommend parking on the streets around Muck & Fuss restaurant and walking over the bridge to the park. This helps to avoid traffic and park for free. Plus there is hardly ever a parking spot anyways.

Everyone has to visit Austin! It is famous for it's "weird" scene. Even though it has been majorly changed in recent years you can still find the classic hippies and great art scene in Austin. I recommend Barton Springs and their unique restaurants. One of my favs is Launderette.

Buy a tube when you float the river
If you plan on floating the river just once, it is worth buying a tube and inflating it yourself. Save $50 by bringing your own tube and walk once you get out of the Comal back to where you parked.

There are lots of areas in New Braunfels where owning a pair of waterproof sandals is a necessity. When you float the river, don't forget to bring them too!
