The closest restaurant/cafe/bar to our apartment. You can find this Brasserie nestled below the apartment just in front of the footpath along Langland beach. This is a popular spot to sit for a morning coffee and watch the surf, have an alfresco lunch in the summer whilst enjoying a day at the beach or to share a cold drink in the evening while the sunsets over the bay. We recommend you check out opening times and bookings before your visit as it can get busy during summer months.

Our top tip is to head down to Southend Gardens where there is outside seating (some of the tables are under a festival tent), in a park along the front. There is a play area for the kids and it’s lovely on a sunny day, with the tent providing cover in bad weather. You can order drinks and food from the restaurants and bars over the road or from food trucks on the front, and eat/drink them in the gardens. There is a really nice atmosphere in the day or the evening

An Italian cafe/restaurant/ice cream parlour that has been around for years, but always delivers. The venue is in a great position right on the promenade pointing out into the sea. There is lots of seating so even if you have to wait you should be able to get a table in or out. Stop off for a takeaway ice cream, an Italian lunch or dinner or a coffee and pastry.

Joe’s Ice Cream Parlour is a Swansea institution. Their ice cream is even sold in Harrods. Expect big, but fast moving queues for a takeaway ice cream in the summer. Our tip, locals always choose the traditional vanilla flavour, it’s the best!

Beaches

One of the longest beaches in the UK. Great for a day at the beach with kids. You can learn to surf here in the smaller waves in the centre of the beach or more experienced surfers can brave the paddle out and surf the furthest right spot called Peaks. There is pay parking in the campsite, a cafe and a small shop. We recommend stopping at the Kings Head pub in the Llangennith village after a windswept day at the beach. Good pub food and a drink out the front of the pub whilst the sun goes down is a perfect end to the day.

They are both long or steep walks so if you plan on going with kids or spending the day, you may be best to drive and pay to park I. The car park. There is a cafe and takeaway kiosks, toilets and surf school (you would need to book a lesson in advance).

This is a world famous beach that regularly ales the top ten lists in the UK. Unusual for its three prongs of cliffs that cut through the huge beach, it has the most spectacular scenery on Gower. You can park in Parkmill and walk through the the woods, along the river which snakes through the marshes dotted with wild ponies and cows. On the left hand side of the valley you will pass Pennard castle a ruin from Gower’s Norman past. The river then snakes around the bay on an Oxbow, so take off you shoes and wade through! This is a walk and beach to remember.
