Harmony Valley Creamery can trace its roots back to the original creamery in Harmony, which opened its doors in 1913. The creamery served Harmony and San Luis Obispo County for 57 years until it closed in 1970, seemingly for good. However, 46 years later the hiatus was over, and Harmony Valley Creamery opened again in 2016 as an ice cream truck.
Today Harmony Valley Creamery continues to serve its ice cream to locals and tourists alike from their renovated DIVCO Milk Truck up and down the central coast. Most weekends you can find them right by the old creamery in Harmony, but you can also find them at events, wineries, and farmers markets throughout the county. These days you can even buy individual pints sold in over 60 grocery stores stretching from San Luis Obispo to San Diego!

The Harmooonious Moment Cheese Truck, also owned by Harmony Valley Creamery, offers “udderly awesome” melts and raclette. The trucks are located right next to each other if you want to have lunch followed by dessert!
If you haven’t tried raclette, it’s a dish where cheese is heated to melting and generally tops cooked potatoes, but other foods as well. If you like cheese, you will want to try raclette!

Almost 3 miles south of Harmony on Highway 1 is Harmony Headlands State Park, a preserve with a trail that winds through the nearby hills and valleys before reaching the coast. Along the way, you get to see some incredible wildlife, beautiful flowers, and bright colors, and that’s all before you get to the end of the hike with gorgeous views of the ocean! The entire trail is just over four miles round trip, and aside from some slight elevation gains, a fun adventure for the whole family.
