Hiking

The nice scenic State Forest just a five minute walk down the road. There is parking at the trail head as well. There are some nice hiking loops that are about just an hour. We recommend downloading the AllTrails app. You get a good signal in the forest and you can see your location on the map so you can create however long a route you’d like. In the spring and summer look for the red newts in the toads woodpeckers in the trees. In the winter when there’s enough snow it’s nice snowshoeing

Food scene

This is one of the few sit down restaurants in Hillsborough. Basic pub menu friendly atmosphere. In the spring and summer they have a nice outdoor deck with live music.

Skiing

A small but really well organized ski mountain about 15 minutes from the house. Along with skiing they have tubing and nice hiking trails around them the mountain. Lift tickets and tubing tickets are limited so I would recommend trying to book well in advance
