It’s just a really beautiful place for an indoor/outdoor dinner and drink. The food is so so truthfully, but it’s a bit of a scene for up here and the venue itself is stunning

Barrenjoey House

It’s a nice outdoor / undercover brunch spot that is a three minute walk from the house.
The food is decent (not exceptional - prefer Coast in Palm Beach), but a nice walk and setting.
The Clairevill shops also contain a milk bar, nice wine shop, Greek restaurant (can dine in) and Indian take out (all are solid).

Girdlers

One of the biggest but better pubs in Sydney. It’s right on the water (Pittwater). Typically has chill live music being plaid. Plenty of beautiful undercover spots overlooking the water. We rate at really highly.
Note: the bar up the top is no good…make sure to be down the bottom outside. They are like different venues.

The Newport
2 Kalinya StOne of the biggest but better pubs in Sydney. It’s right on the water (Pittwater). Typically has chill live music being plaid. Plenty of beautiful undercover spots overlooking the water. We rate at really highly.
Note: the bar up the top is no good…make sure to be down the bottom outside. They are like different venues.

We consider it the best beach in the area (though all are good). Waves are more beginner to intermediate relative to Avalon beach.

Whale Beach
We consider it the best beach in the area (though all are good). Waves are more beginner to intermediate relative to Avalon beach.
This is a beautiful walk that begins/ends on Hilltop Road. There are wooden steps just after 85 Hilltop Road. They lead up for a beautiful twenty five minute walk through a rainforest like setting and take you to palmgrove street (right near Avalon shops).

Angophora Reserve
58 Palmgrove RdThis is a beautiful walk that begins/ends on Hilltop Road. There are wooden steps just after 85 Hilltop Road. They lead up for a beautiful twenty five minute walk through a rainforest like setting and take you to palmgrove street (right near Avalon shops).
Paradise beach is a circa 8 min walk from our house. It’s stunning at sunset around 6pm onwards in the summer months. Simply walk down hilltop towards Clareville shops and cross onto Riverview Rd.

Bangalley Head is a beautiful coastal headland walk. Easiest starting point is next to 97 Marine Parade, North Avalon. We park on the street and start our walk from that point, which is about a half hour walk return.

You can cut through a track between 38 and 42 Hilltop Rd, or walk the normal route via the street.

Clareville Beach Reserve

Church point as an area is worth a visit. The general store is a great meeting point for a coffee where a few waterfront walks begin. The general store offers brunch, it’s a really beautiful setting but we warn that the food is just so so. Church Point is definitely worth a visit if you have multiple days in Avalon. It’s also on the footsteps of Karungai Chaise National Park (second oldest in Aus) which is really beautiful to drive or enter

The general store offers brunch, it’s a really beautiful setting but we warn that the food is just so so. Church Point is definitely worth a visit if you have multiple days in Avalon. Palm beach lighthouse is a beautiful walk with probably the best views in the entire area. We note that it does get pretty crowded. Dunes is a nice cafe or lunch spot (generally want a reservation) if your in the area.
