We recommend you taking the Ship Island Excursion to Ship Island when it is in season. It is a ferry that take you out to the island. You can spend the day out there and catch the last ferry back in. Ship island has some of the most beautiful beaches on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. There is also an old Fort located on the island.

New Orleans French Quarter is only an hour from our Bay St. Louis home and an hour and twenty minutes from our Gulfport home. If you have time to make a quick day trip to New Orleans we would recommend it. Its a unique city and try to squeeze it in.

We recommend beaches all along the coast but some of the most quietest and unpopulated beaches are in the City of Pass Christian. There are several places to park along Hwy 90 and if your wanting privacy we recommend it. Its a short drive from both Bay St. Louis and Gulfport.

What to bring to our Shady Oak's properties
We've tried to put everything that you would need at our locations in Gulfport, Pass Christian and Bay St. Louis. Our homes have all the dishes, cups, and kitchen utensils that you would need. We also have grills, firepits and propane at each home along with bicycles, beach toys and more. One of the Bay St. Louis homes and the Pass Christian home have cornhole boards, and darts for your entertainment. The other Bay St. Louis home has a pool and a hot tub.
