Firstly, it’s a grocery market. Yes, it’s Near East grocery market! It means, that this place is very noisy, dirty, stinky, but fantastically charming! The place, where sellers don’t deceive buyers. Place, where everyone and everything is always in move. it’s a place, where everything is mixed. Here you can buy fresh fruits, and one meter further, – please, you can taste candies. You can find fish on the next bar, and immediately after it, – bread, or berries! That’s why all smells here are in mix too! You can taste everything, and sellers will always help, if you want. Do you want to taste apples? No problem! You should just ask. Now, do you want to taste strawberry? Please, take it and taste. You can ask to taste even fresh sea fish, if you like it!

Jewish Legion Museum ('Bet Hagdudim') The Jewish Legion Museum depicts the story of Jewish volunteering to the British army in two world wars and of their heroic spirit. On top of a hill, overlooking the wide Hefer Valley and the Sharon, stands an impressively beautiful structure, housing the Beit Hagdudim Museum. The museum was established at Moshav Avichail in 1961 by veterans of the Hebrew battalions (gdudim) of the First World War and it presents Jewish courage and volunteering. During the two world wars Jews from Land of Israel and the diaspora joined the British Army to fight for the Land of Israel. What’s at the site? Two impressive exhibitions: One – containing rare exhibits, weapon exhibition, short films and multimedia presenting the Hebrew battalions of the First World War – the pioneers of enlistment to the Hebrew units in the struggle for a national cause. The second – offers a display on the volunteers of the Jewish settlement in the Land of Israel to the British Army in the Second World War – the fight against the Nazis, the encounter with Holocaust survivors and the volunteers’ contribution to the establishment of the IDF. There is also a roofed sitting corner and lawns and gardens for visitors’ enjoyment, a library and an archive. Entrance fee: Pensioners Youth and Student 10₪ Adults 15₪ Soldiers in uniform – free of charge. Payment in cash or check only.

The "Winter Pond Reserve" ("Shlulit HaHoref") is in the southern part of Netanya, east of the sandstone cliff found by the sea shore. Every year, the winter rains flow into the pond area and make a small picturesque lake. The size and life-time of the lake depend on the amount of precipitation each year. During the spring months the “pond” attracts many travelers from all over Israel: nature lovers, painters, photographers, scholars and students. In the small area of the pond, life begins anew each winter: crabs, daphnia and various water insects – as many as 20 species, come to life in the pond’s water. More than 100 eucalyptus trees were planted around the pond in the 19th century and give a special look as they are ideal dwelling place for ravens, herons, crows and ring-necked parakeets.

Part of the promenade, the entrance to Argaman Beach is from Ben-Ami Blvd. The beach has a lifeguard on duty, a restaurant and fitness equipment. Parking is free. In the past, this beach was named after Beit Goldmintz, which is a vacation facility for soldiers. Many soldiers frequent this beach because Beit Goldmintz and Beit Feldman are stationed nearby. The beach has restaurant facilities and a restroom including first aid facilities, and lifeguard and security stations. The beach is adjacent to the southern neighborhoods, Neot Shaked and Ramat Yadin. The beach is narrow and beautiful. There is no wave breaker here. It is becoming gradually more popular as development progresses in the neighborhood, such as NT 600 and others. Tamuz Restaurant operates a mini-bar on the beach, and a rich menu of fish and seafood. Every evening there is a party on the beach. These parties attract youngsters from everywhere, including Herzliyya, Kefar Sava, Ra'anana and the surrounding settlements, and are a great pride for Netanya.

Alona Park - Mei Kedem (in Hebrew, "Ancient Waters") is the Ancient Underground Water Tunnel built 2000 years ago, as a part of an engineering system designed once to provided the water to the city of Caesarea. You can now tour in a section length of 250-290m of tunnel with cool water. Fun tour, beautiful views and suitable for the whole family. !!!. Mei Kedem is NOT at the same location as the Aqueduct. It is in Park Alona about a 15min drive, near Moshav Amikam! INSTRUCTION: Get to Alona Park, both Waze and Google Maps have directions to this address, free parking is available. Entrance into the tunnel is done in groups with a guide heading each group. Tours depart every 30 minutes, and begin with a short movie with information about the tunnel and its construction YOU NEED: water shoes, a flashlight and a complete change of clothing (there’s a place to change and they sell cheap flashlights) After the park, then drive to Caesarea to see the remains of the aqueduct as well as the other Roman ruins. It's like being in Rome and really gives you a sense of ancient Roman engineering and how far that empire reached. Plus, the beach is beautiful

Pump Track Bike Park in Netanya. Bike park built along Highway 57 over approximately 11 acres will be upgraded again * The upgrade is called: Pump Track, a ring-shaped bike track with system of berms and rollers (dirt mounds for pumping), with the principle behind it being that bicyclists move forward and gain speed without pedaling, but by timed movement of their bodies. *Sounds good... Netanya Municipality, through Halat, has begun work on the pump track at the bike park that runs parallel to Highway 57, in the old industrial zone. A pump track is a quarter-acre ring-shaped bike track with system of berms and rollers (dirt mounds for pumping), with the principle behind it being that cyclists move forward and gain speed without pedaling, but by timed movement of their bodies. The pump track will be built on the eastern side of the bike park and will include diverse surfaces and fences. The cost of project is NIS 750,000, and the work is scheduled to take approximately four months. The Netanya pump track will be one of the largest in Israel and will join the many options the park offers both recreational and professional cyclists. They include: a criterium track - a professional track that is "sterile" and open solely to cyclists and a unique and challenging track for BMX racing, a sport that was recognized as an Olympic sport at the last Olympic Games in Beijing. Engineer Eli Dalal, Acting Netanya Mayor who is in charge of the city's infrastructures and transportation, said, "The pump track is another aspect of promotion of cycling in Netanya, which has experienced a surge in popularity in terms of transportation, tourism and, of course, as a sport as well. I'm very happy that the number of cyclists and cycling events is growing. We just recently hosted cycling coaches, who hold activity in the park once a week. Once a month, I lead bicycle tours of Netanya. What's more - we hold educational activity and training on cycling in the elementary schools."

Best Georgian food in town Very tasty cheese pies (khachapuri) - make sure to try khachapuri acharuli, an Adjarian version of the traditional Georgian pie that is finished with a runny egg on top of all the cheesy goodness. Imeretian/Megrelian pies are also awesome, and if you are lucky to be there the day they make Achma, a version of the pie with homemade puff pastry, definitely try it! Khinkali, the traditional Georgian dumplings, and pelmeni, a similar Russian/Ukrainian fare, are made in house and can be eaten in or taken away. Prices are very modest.

One of Netanya’s oldest establishments is Miriam’s Grill. Located in the city center and near the beach, Miriam’s Grill is known for their home-made Moroccan style cuisine. Everything is made in-house and the staff makes you feel at home too. In the classic Israeli style steakhouse, you will get meats grilled to perfection with salads and bread that are as fresh as they come.

the Caesarea Antiquities National Park presents a cultural continuity of 2,500 years of history, and therefore it is a site of national and international importance. The site preserves values of nature, landscape and historic legacy, and cultivates them for the coming generations. Caesarea moved back and forth between periods of affluence and prosperity, and destruction and ruin. The city’s remains give evidence of days of pomp and glory as well as periods of regression and decline. The city began life in the Persian period (4th century BCE), when a trading station was established on the Mediterranean sea shore, containing a protective fort. This town was part of the line of settlements established by people from Tyre and Sidon along the coastline, down to Egypt. The name of this small town was “Straton” (in Hebrew – Migdal Sharshon), after the name of the person who founded it – the King of Sidon. In the Roman period, Herod identified the potential of the place, and in 30 BCE he commenced building a port city there. He named it Caesarea, in honor of Augustus Caesar who gave the territory to Herod as a gift. Previous port cities at that time were established in the vicinity of natural bays, but Herod began building an artificial port, one of the largest in the Middle East, and the most sophisticated. The port contributed greatly to the general stability of the city. Caesarea reached the peak of its prosperity in the Roman-Byzantine period, and its remains from that period show a flourishing city, containing a system for the supply of flowing water, planned streets, cultural and municipal public buildings (from temples to theaters), and more. In the Roman period Caesarea was the capital of the Province of Judea, the place of residence of governors, and it also had a large Jewish community. In the Byzantine period the city became a large metropolis, and enjoyed an important status due to the Christian community living there.
