Food scene

A typical country pub, that is very relaxed, dog friendly, and super cheap wine to accompany dinner (think bottleshop prices, not restaurant prices). NB often only accepts cash so remember to take either cash or a cash card (the bar will let you take cash out when you make a purchase). The food is a combination of typical pub fare and Greek style dining. The Greek options tend to be both better value and tastier. This is really the only local dining option, but it provides good food, generous serving sizes, and casual atmosphere. There is also a cafe in Krambach. The next closest option is Nabiac pub for lunch an dinner and the Greenhouse cafe which does excellent breakfasts and lunches. Tennis courts are available for hire - $10 for an hour (though it is not strict). Pick up the key from the Krambach pub. Courts are behind the pub down the lane.

Forster (30 minute drive) has heaps of things to do. From beaches, walks, shops, fish co-op, heaps of dining options (and most are surprisingly good).

Sightseeing

30 minutes drive north west via Krambach A cute little town that is worth a visit. It has a bakery, basic shopping, good pizza shop etc. Some historic buildings, and a quaint village that time has largely passed by. A good farmers market on the First Saturday of each month. Jimmy Blacksmith was imprisoned at Wingham and the museum / cell are worth a visit. Walk from town to the Wingham Brush Nature Reserve, home to a colony of grey-headed flying foxes and fig trees. A wheelchair-accessible boardwalk links to several walking tracks through the nature reserve. This reserve is home to a rich and rare rainforest, as well as hundreds of flying foxes. Wingham is a great base for visiting the natural attractions, from enormous Moreton Bay figs to the beaches. Take a scenic 50 minutes’ drive north to the spectacular Ellenborough Falls, one of the Southern Hemisphere’s longest single-drop waterfalls. Tapin Tops National Park lookouts offer panoramic views.
