A short drive and a ferry ride. Ghiga makes and ideal day out from Tarbert. There's local ice cream to try, some lovely walks and beaches, bikes to hire and The Boathouse restaurant a short walk from the ferry terminal for lunch - keep an eye on the last sailing of the day though!
It's possible to book a taxi from Tarbert to link up with the ferry if you'd like too.
