Bettys Pancake Pantry: This is the place to eat a homemade breakfast. Don't let the looks on the outside of the building keep you from going inside. Clean and tidy, if somewhat worn, the cozy room welcomes you to a good breakfast.

The Cove Restaurant: It may be tucked away, but it is drawing rave reviews from campers and patrons from next door and as far away as Atlanta, Chattanooga, and Birmingham. You have to try the Country Fried Steak, Hamburger Steak, and Country Fried Catfish. The homemade mashed potatoes, creamed corn, and green beans are absolutely delicious. The homemade desserts and daily specials are beyond wonderful. You will come back again and again!

Museum

If you are interested in the culture around Cherokee County, Alabama from the past, this is a good place to visit. This is best for adults, but if children are supervised, this is a great learning experience for them. There is a Starbucks located in the museum.

Adventuring

Huge wealth of knowledge about not only the adventures but also the area. The adventures are absolutely incredible. Rappelling, rock climbing, caving, zip line, canoeing, and the list goes on. Plenty of gear in the store if you need to pick up a bag, rope, harness, or anything to make your adventure complete and safe. No sales pressure at all and they won't try to sell you on anything you don't need. If you don't need it they will tell you that you don't need it. They also stock cold drinks and snacks.

Things To Do

I was pleasantly surprised with this drive in. It is in Centre, Alabama just off Hwy 411. They show double, full length (new) movies. Fun for all ages. We paid 15.00 a car load. They have a really large food place. Lots of different food and snacks to choose from at very reasonable prices. It's about 30 minutes or so from the bypass in Gadsden and about 30 minutes from the Georgia state line by Gaylesville. Definitely worth a family evening out. I didn't bring pets myself but did see people walking there pets on leashes. Also a lot of people brought lawn chairs and blankets and an FM radio. So you can sit outside picnic style and watch the movie. The FM radio is for the sound. It comes through a FM station in your car or by handheld FM radio.
