Moore Street has seen many changes since this building was erected in the late 1887 as DR D.I. Watson’s Pharmacy. Since Watsons Pharmacy closed in 1960, the building has been one restaurant or another over the next 58 years of its existence. Moore SOB has been the location of an ice cream sundry, several restaurants and now Moore Street Oyster Bar.
Oliver and Suzanne Landis saw a diamond in the rough. Oliver passed away before completing his dream of opening an oyster bar in Southport, however, that didn't stop Suzanne's passion to bring his dream to fruition.
Now, you have the improved layout and beautifully exposed historic brick displayed in a way that has never been done before. A magnificent tribute honoring her late husband that he would be proud of!
Moore Street Oyster Bar aims to serve elevated bar food consisting of oysters and steamer pots at its heart. We hope to bring the feeling of a family experience over a steamer pot, cracking crabs, and eating oysters.

History:
In 1976, B.C. Hedgepath opened the very first Trolly Stop. The original store is called Station 1, as it was located on the first stop of the trolley line in Wrightsville Beach—and is still located there today. Until 1935, the only way to get in and around Wrightsville Beach was by walking, or taking the Trolley Line.
After a year, Mr. Hedgepath sold the store to Ron and Winnie Krueger. Ron and Winnie served hot dogs to the coastal community for the next 19 years, building the brand with tasty hot dogs, fresh ingredients, and “mom and pop” charm.
Keeping the tradition alive, Ron and Winnie sold the Trolly Stop to Rick and JoDeane Coombs in 1996. Rick and JoDeane opened Trolly Stops in Carolina Beach in 1998, Front Street in Historic Downtown Wilmington in 1999 and Southport in 2000. After the passing of his wife JoDeane, Rick remained the owner of the Trolly Stop stores until the incorporation and subsequent franchising of the business. Rick remains the owner of the franchisor Stock Dogs Inc., and of location operator/manager Trolly Stop Hotdogs, Inc.
To date, there are 4 Trolly Stop locations: Wrightsville Beach, Fountain Drive – Wilmington, Southport, and Chapel Hill.

Over the years, Mr. P’s Bistro has strived to set the standard for fine dining service in the Southport area. Opening in 1977 as the Sand Bar then renamed Skippers in the early 80’s, The Tiki Tavern has been in business for 4 years owned by Jerry (Lightning) and Deanna Rivenbark.
If you are looking for a relaxing drink in the afternoons or a big time listening to our many bands on Friday or Saturday night, this is your drinking hole. If you want to enjoy an outdoor drink you can sit on our patio and enjoy the music outside.. As a club we offer free hotdogs with great chili all day long our South Carolina chili can’t be topped. Don’t let the “club” denomination scare you away. Membership is immediate with a legal ID and one dollar. That covers you for a year. NC alcohol laws require this.. And if you are a music aficionado you will enjoy our Wednesday evening open Mic. Hosted by John Tatum alias “Southport Johnny” and Spence Hayden….. we get great crowds from 7-10pm. If you are looking to jam, we are the spot.
