Surprisingly very good to excellent Italian food in a relaxed environment. We typically sit at the bar and order dinner. Stacy, the bartender is very attentive and helpful if you can't decide on what to order, because there are so many great choices. The dining room is quiet and relaxed. The service in the dining room could be better. Take out is always and option if you don't want to eat in. Messina's has probably the best take out pizza in town. Sunday and Thursday night is Parmesan Night.

Stacy, the bartender is very attentive and helpful if you can't decide on what to order, because there are so many great choices. The dining room is quiet and relaxed. The service in the dining room could be better. Take out is always and option if you don't want to eat in. Messina's has probably the best take out pizza in town. Sunday and Thursday night is Parmesan Night.
Nice menu with a good variety of choices, for any group of family or friends. The food quality is high. The interior has a nice atmosphere. The kitchen and pizza station is open to diners.

Great menu, HUGE beer menu and gift shop area with candy, cheese, chocolate and more. Last Chance Cheese opened 30+ years ago and sold antiques as well as food. The walls are still covered with items that are for sale. So come for a meal and walk around the place to see what they have to sell. The candy section has some unusual and tasty choices.

The walls are still covered with items that are for sale. So come for a meal and walk around the place to see what they have to sell. The candy section has some unusual and tasty choices.
If you love steak, this is the place to go. All of the beef is locally sourced. The chicken is also really good, which should not be a surprise. They often have live music on the weekends. There is also an outdoor dance area and fire pit (weather permitting).

The venue is a former bank building with a view of the slopes across the street. The donuts are amazing. In fact, everything I've ever had at Windham Local has been outstanding. If you go, relax and spend some time. There are cozy sofas in the corner and it is a great way to just spend some time doing nothing but drink coffee or tea on a relaxing morning.

They only serve until 8pm and are currently operating out of a tent, with propane fire pit at each seating area. So many wines and beers to choose from. There is a dining area with table choices including high top tables. The beer cave should have plenty of choices for the beer drinkers.
The nearest grocery store is 10 minutes away, and I want to warn you that it is not the best looking place, but they have great local meat, Boars Head products, limited produce, frozen food items and basic grocery store food items. They have typical store delivered bread, canned goods, store made pickles / potato & pasta salads.

I often pick up items like flour, sugar, candy, greeting cards (for $1!), toiletries, laundry detergent, cleaning products, seasonal products.

The biggest grocery store after you exit from the NYS Thurway. (There is also another Hannaford's on the other side of the Hudson as you head to Windham, of the Taconic Parkway.) Located "down the mountain" so if you have time to stop before you head "up the mountain" this is your best best for finding everything you need to cook, BBQ, bake, microwave, eat out of the bag or box. Big variety. Good prices.

Alpine Gardens convenience store / gas station on Route 296 that isn't bad. Not many choices but they have milk, eggs, bread, ice cream. They are also located by the Windham Pharmacy and Bookstore.

Fifteen minutes away from Windham, but worth the drive. The S.O.B. (South of the Boarder) omelet is my favorite thing on the menu. Maggie's serves breakfast all day, so if you want to head to Tannersville to go antiquing, plan to stop and get something to eat for a late breakfast or early lunch. The interior as well as the exterior is colorfully painted. The floors and tables are not level which adds to the quirkiness of Maggie's Krooked Cafe.
