How to move
The towns can be visited by bus, boat, train, or by hiking trail. Undoubtedly the boat and the trails offer a more spectacular view than the train that, however, remains the fastest way to visit Cinque terre

Cinque Terre Card
There are two types of cards available:
- Cinque Terre Trekking Card: giving you access to the footpaths only
- Cinque Terre Train Card: giving you access to the hiking trails together with unlimited train travel on the Cinque Terre trains
The Cinque Terre Cards can be purchased at the information desks at every train station in Cinque Terre, Levanto and La Spezia.

Cinque terre Events
In the Cinque Terre, from spring until fall, there are several fantastic festivals. Try to time your holiday so that you can attend one of these local events.
January, Manarola Nativity scene.The 300 characters are made of recycled materials. Of course, the nativity scene is the most beautiful at night, illuminated.
The Monterosso Lemon festival is held on a weekend in May. Local people participate in different competitions: the biggest lemon, etc. On the second Sunday after Pentecost the streets of Monterosso are decorated with thousands of flowers and petals

The Saint's Day
The saint's day is usually celebrated with procession, music, dancing, eating, drinking and fireworks.
June 24 – Riomaggiore and Monterosso (The day is finished with fireworks)– The day of San Giovanni Battista.
June 29 – Corniglia – The day of San Pietro and Paolo: A large traditional cake is offered to all the participants.
July 20 – Vernazza – The day of Santa Margarita. (Procession)
July 24-25 – Levanto – The day of San Giacomo and the celebration of the sea. The 100 kg crosses are being carried by very strong local men, taking turns.
The day is finished with fireworks

August 10 – Manarola – The day of San Lorenzo.
On this day, several artists arrive to paint in the villages and on the hiking trails.
Monterosso – Anchovy and olive festival
This gastronomic festival is held every year in September. Here you can taste several local dishes made with the wonderful Monterosso anchovies.
