Like other Dutch cities Rotterdam is great for biking. It is also, almost always, the fastest way to move around. For renting a bike you can look for local rental places or choose a bike sharing service, such as Uber or Mobike. Public transport is also available and efficient, but it is not so cheap. If you prefer to use buses, trams and metros, their services are connected. You can get tickets on the machines available at metro and train stations. You can also buy tickets directly with the drivers (tram and bus), but the machines offer more options, like day tickets.

Markthal is must-see classic. You can love it or hate it, but you will want to check it out. There are many options for food&drinks inside, and around it you have other typical attractions, such as the Cube Houses and the Central Library. If you like markets, the square in which Markthal is located has a big one every Tuesday and Saturday. If you don't like crowds that much you will want to avoid the area on these days.

Dutch speak great English and will be glad to help you out in this language. From bus drivers to the people that work in restaurants and shops, you can successfully try English. And to be polite, you can always reply a friendly and simple "prima" or a more complex and polite "dankjewel".

Euromast is a famous attraction and it is really nice to see the city from above, specially if the sky is clear. You can plan to eat in the restaurant located at the top or plan to go only for the view. You might want to reserve for the restaurant.

The Netherlands is famous for the bikes, but also for its weather. Lovely when the sun is shinning, especially because of the big windows (our case) and the light that inspired so many important painters. Not so nice during the rainy days, which can be fairly common. Have in mind that the rain is also partly the reason for the many and pretty canals and that life goes on just as normal over here. So the advice is: don't let the rain get in your way and enjoy the city!
