If it’s busy on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier, try this restaurant which is slightly off the beaten track, on your right hand side partway down red run 11. It’s a little tricky to get as you need to build up a little bit of speed (or you can walk over the last bit of path) but it’s worth it for a quieter location, great views and nice food.

This extensive ski area is included in your ski pass and well worth making the journey over. Intermediate and experienced skiers can ski most of the way over via a variety of runs and lifts (there’s a short bus transfer at the bottom of Zell am See Express) or it’s an easy 25 min bus journey all the way from Zell (approx €11 rtn bus journey).
