Just A Taste is a great restaurant but the environment is quite noisy. They also serve wine and beer. Tapas are fun when you are with three or more people.

Parks & Nature
If you are coming to Ithaca for the first time, you must see Taughannock State Park. The waterfall is incredible. There is a nice walk/hike/bike-ride before you finally encounter the falls. Taughannock Park is more than just the waterfall; it is also a park and campground. There is a $7 fee for each car and they only accept cash. I believe parking is free after 6 or 7pm.

Sightseeing
Ithaca Falls isn't as well-known as Taughannock and Buttermilk State Parks but it is absolutely worth visiting. Located behind the Ithaca High School, I highly recommend it. I visit Ithaca Falls and Taughannock Falls at least once a year with my children, family and friends. It is completely free to walk up to the falls.

Cornell University is FULL of local history and culture. If you have never visited Cornell, I highly recommend devoting at least two hours to it. Check out the Clock Tower, Sage Chapel and learn about the history of Cornell.

We have one Mall in the area. The biggest mall however is called Destiny USA and is located an hour away in Syracuse. The Ithaca Mall contains the essentials such as Best Buy, Target, Old Navy, Dicks, Pandora and of course, a food court.

Essentials
Tops is a full grocery store. The products here are more affordable than anywhere else, if that is important to you. You will not find a bigger selection anywhere else, at least near my apartment. If you are willing to travel to downtown Ithaca, you might find that Wegmans is even better.
