Downtown Durham is a must. The unique shops, absolutely delicious foods including food truck rodeos that happen pretty frequently and the people watching are an awesome way to spend a weekend.

despite being just a plain address this is where you can find the occoneechee speedway. It is a nice little hike with various routes it's one of my favorite places in the spring to get some cardio and fresh air

Hillsborough BBQ company is amazing! They have some phenomenal macaroni and cheese as well as three types of coleslaw. The smoked chicken and their sausage are both great as well.
It is right next to a frozen custard place for some great dessert.

The various arboretums are phenomenal!
We have one for each of the major colleges, UNC, Duke and NC state. Personally, NC state is my favorite but they all have something special to them.
