A hidden gem! Look for the red lantern. Royal is one of my favorite bars in the city. A few minute walk from the apartment. The kitchen is open until 1am. If you like sashimi ask about the industry bowl after 11. Try the miso eggplant it's delicious. Sake on tap!

Unpretentious ramen spot run by restaurant industry veterans who turned their ramen pop up into a brick and mortar hotspot. Late night bowls of piping hot tonkotsu and vegan options frequented by chefs after their dinner service. No takeout, I guess that's their only pretentious trait. But their ramen is best eaten immediately anyway.

Wear your beanie and flannel. Beware, heavy on the hipsters. Seems like a spot you would find in Williamsburg Brooklyn. The baked goods are some of the best you will find in the city. A prominent pastry chef does all the baking. Croissants, scones, and breakfast sandwiches are the way to go. Of course you can find plenty of kale, hemp milk, and quinoa if that's your thing.

A prominent pastry chef does all the baking. Croissants, scones, and breakfast sandwiches are the way to go. Of course you can find plenty of kale, hemp milk, and quinoa if that's your thing.
