Sightseeing

A short 15 minute walk to the spa and great food, or enjoy a cocktail around a fire pit as you watch the people along the bike path. Walk around the grounds to see the parrots/handlers, little ducklings and waterfall. Fun place to hang out. You can also rent catamarans, sail boats, pedal boats, etc. fun stuff and on Sunday nights they do movies on the sand for the kids.

Two minutes from our place, driving that is. The shows are fun, aquariums are interesting and keeps you cool in between shows and the lines are not usually long. I go here with my own kids at least once a month but don’t buy the food unless you have a bud budget. I think it’s overpriced for what you get so we always buy a turkey leg and share it and pack water bottles and snacks.

This is a great place, off the beaten path to watch the people glide off of the cliffs in their gliders. The view is spectacular and the lunch shack has great sandwiches and soups. You can explore the cliffs but take precautions.

The best zoo ever. Great walking trails and very well planned. The plants alone are worth seeing and the whole place is always changing. If you think you’ve seen it before, you really haven’t seen it. Every time I go there is something new to see that they have added.

It’s just a quirky fun place to go see. A suspension bridge in the middle of a canyon and completely off of the beaten path. Interesting neighborhood and close to Little Italy.

The views are spectacular and there are tide pools and trails to walk along as well. The historical Cabrillo Lighthouse is iconic to San Diego.

Go online and get passes on Group on if available. Less expensive and typically a great value. This place is fun to hang out and one definitely must go on The Big Dipper but can get really crowded so if you’re not a fan of crowds then I definitely do not recommend this place.

Food scene

My absolute favorite breakfast place in PB/MB. French toast is gooey & crunchy with berries. AlsoTexmex food style with chillaquilles, tamales & excellent coffee as well. Get there before nine or the wait can be long but it is worth it.

If you have a sweet tooth and love over the top, then you have to go here. Amazing desserts; they do have a regular menu as well but their main focus is dessert and they do them very decadently.

In Pacific Beach this is where the locals hang at the beach. There are bathrooms, surf rentals, and great body surfing. Parking can be challenging because there is only Street parking so sometimes you have to drive around or park in the east side of Mission Boulevard.
