A free museum in Chamberlain with excellent exhibits and information on the Lakota peoples, history and culture. Kids and adults alike will love it (and the A/C works well in summer!). The best stop between Sioux Falls and Wall (MUCH MORE WORTHWHILE than the Corn Palace, in Bill’s mind).

The best stop between Sioux Falls and Wall (MUCH MORE WORTHWHILE than the Corn Palace, in Bill’s mind).
For anyone interested in the cultural and political history of Native American peoples, this is a MUST VISIT museum. The actual site of Wounded Knee is hours off the interstate and does not have as thorough of an interpretive center. This museum is just minutes off I-90 in Wall (close to Wall Drug), strategically placed so that as many of us as possible can become aware of this important (but hard) history. Hope you’ll create the time to visit!
