Sightseeing
Each access listed below offers a little something different. They ALL have free parking if you choose to drive. If you want to visit a different town, both Kitty Hawk and Nags Head have numerous beach accesses- just look for the signs as you cruise along the beach road. Some accesses have lifeguards, some do not. While on the beach, if you have any questions about the waters or the beach just ask a lifeguard. They should be able to help you! If you see FLAGS on the beach, you should find out the reason for the flag. Red flag- stay out of the water. Yellow is a warning and is usually present during threat of rip currents. Rip currents will take you from near-shore to some distance away from shore so make sure you know how to get out of one safely. TIP: If you can't swim stay out of the water. If you can swim, don't swim when warning flags are up. If you plan to swim, read up on rip currents. AND PLEASE HELP KEEP OUR BEACHES CLEAN (No cig butts, water bottle caps, trash of any kind left behind) and the SAND GETS HOT at times, hot enough to burn the bottom of your feet. bring your flip flops :)
TOP PICK. This beach access is the one we use the most. It is just around the corner (walk or drive) and has a rinse-off area in the *free* parking lot.

This beach access is straight down Pinehurst (which is where you are staying). It's partially a sandy footpath, so not the best for lugging stuff, but there is free parking at the access itself and is usually less crowded than some of the other bigger accesses like Ocean Bay.

This beach access has a FULL indoor bath house- showers, restrooms, and is a lifeguarded beach. It is also directly across from Stop n Shop - for all your forgotten items, deli sandwiches, souvenirs, fishing stuff, etc. But with all this comes a little more of a crowd. Parking is free.
Ocean Bay Boulevard

It is also directly across from Stop n Shop - for all your forgotten items, deli sandwiches, souvenirs, fishing stuff, etc. But with all this comes a little more of a crowd. Parking is free.
Another great access is a few streets North. There is a covered gazebo on the boardwalk.
