This is the restaurant the birthed the Black Dog t-shirt. Large portions, great view of the harbor, feels like your in an old wooden boat. Food is better quality in some other places but this place has a long history, a great setting and a spectacular view. You won't go away hungry.

This is like a walk in Chubby Checker/ Elvis land. Great food, good portions with the ultimate 50's diner experience. Run by a young island girl who has a knack for making you feel welcome and special. Just off main street next to the movie theater.

Dinner Restaurant suggestions
People and often ask me where to eat. It's hard to go wrong on Martha's Vineyard. There are amazing restaurants in all towns a wide variety. Here are some suggestions...
Great Italian Restaurant with a European feel to the place. The waiters often have Italian accents. The portions are generous, the food was very fine. I went with a friend and we decided the next time we would get appetizers and split an entree and have only one glass of wine to fit our budget.. So that's an idea if you can agree on what to split. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience food and atmosphere. I recommend that you reserve ahead of time.

The meals range from lobster to salads to sushi to fired clams and french fries. They make bags of mussels and steamers and cook your lobster for you on the spot. Simple, straight forward, affordable and ultra fresh!

Great location in Vineyard Haven on the water with views of the harbor and a balcony with fresh air. I've only been there once. The food was great. People speak very highly of this dinner spot.

This is a restaurant owned and operated by a couple that has long ties with the Vineyard. Creative, delicious, and beautifully presented in a garden setting if you can get a seat outside. I recommend receiving. Fine dining treat.

This restaurant is at the Winnetu Seaside Resort. It has fine dining and a lovely atmosphere. It borders famous South Beach so include a barefoot walk in the sand before dinner. Reservations recommended.

Wonderful food. This restaurant is in West Tisbury ...so a little harder to get to unless you have a car. Consistent quality of food. Island sourced beef for burgers. Thursdays are burger night. They have a bit of everything and it's always delicious. reservations recommended.

While visiting the farther reaches of the island, perhaps you would like to include a fun lunch experience. Here are some more out of the way places.
I love this place at the Edgartown airfield. It's near South Beach in Katama. Indoor and Outdoor seating. You can also order from the Take Out Menu. They were the first to come up with the lobster eggs benedict, I do believe. Of course its been copied at a number of places on the island now. Many delicious and fresh choices. Watch the red bi-plane take off and land while eating your scrumptious meal. A little jewel of a place.

Take out only but sit on the wharf at makeshift tables and watch the fishing boats and fancy yachts come and go. Economical and delicious.

The shops are filled with genuine local ware as well as Chinese trinkets. The local wampum jewelry is very beautiful and very special. This is a great place to visit, in fact your trip to the Vineyard isn't complete without it. The bus can take you there and bring you back.
