Places to go with a young family
This is a brilliant small ethnographic museum and gardens about 20 minutes away by bus.
It has lovely gardens and a great playground over the road too.
It has a small aquarium, a great collection of animals, a gallery of musical instruments, and fun temporary exhibitions. It is excellent for children up to around 10 years old I'd say.

In the summer Frank's bar is on the roof with amazing views over London (prepare yourself for the toilets though - they are challenging!)

They do fantastic performances with 'living programme notes' so you really get to know the music before you hear it played.

Dulwich Wood, together with the adjacent Sydenham Hill Wood, is the largest extant part of the ancient Great North Wood in the London Borough of Southwark.
Easy to get to the entrance to the wood (bottom of Cox's Walk) on buses 176 and 185 from Champion Hill bus stop heading South (15mins by bus). Or it's a 20-25minute walk to the entrance of the wood from the flat, via Dulwich Park.

This is an amazing lido - it's so massive it doesn't feel crowded even if it's full of people.
It's not so easy to get to from here if you don't have a bike or car, but worth the trip if you love swimming!
