Restaurants

One of my go-to places to eat out. Located in the Westcott area, it has a good selection of Americanized Mexican food. They have a standalone bar as well if you just want some margaritas.

Groceries

Your friendly neighborhood grocery store with a local, almost home-grown feel to it. Smaller than both of the other recommendations, but has what you need and is walkable.

My go-to for groceries. Fair prices (especially on cheese, if you love cheese like I do). It’s rather minimalist and sticks to key items, so I wouldn’t go here if you’re searching for specific baking ingredients and rarer spices.

Standard run-of-the-mill grocery store that has everything you’d expect from a grocery store – doesn’t have that “je ne sais quoi” that your bougie, all-organic groceries possess, but they carry your typical stock and a surprisingly impressive seafood collection. The crab cakes are cheap and a quick bake in the oven (350⁰ F for ~20 minutes)

Another Westcott-based amenity, this brewery has a good selection of rotating house taps, especially IPAs. They’re also the only brewing company with a whiskey tap as well! Great place to relax, play some games, and have some snacks.

Bars/Nightlife

All of the recommendations you'll find in here are in Armory Square, the heart of Downtown Syracuse. If can’t make up your mind or just want to stumble upon a nice place to eat or drink, take a stroll around this well-maintained set of blocks and you’re bound to run into something.
Have the urge to dance? Check out this bar and dance club. Their outdoor patio can be enjoyable in the summer months especially. Population tends to air on the younger side (but age is just a number, baby!)
