With its pink exterior and unusual octagonal shape, the Nassau Public Library is a well-loved local landmark. Although you might not think to visit a public library while on vacation, a detour to see this building is well worth the effort. The library once served as the town’s jail, and the books are housed inside the former jail cells.

Built in the late 18th century for a battle that never took place, this historic site offers picturesque views of Paradise Island, Nassau, and the harbor. You can also see hidden underground passages, a dry moat, remote dungeons; and even canons, which have never been fired in battle.

We had many previous Airbnb guests who have experienced the success of a day trip with Sandy Toes! Their pig swimmer package is definitely the most popular!!! The estimated boat ride time is about 25 minutes which is attractive as you can spend more time having fun. Swimming pigs are part of their full day trip package from Nassau to Rose Island. The experience (which is totally optional) also includes snorkeling, lunch, and extra amenities.

This is a great option for those looking to check "swimming with the pigs" off their bucket list. If flying to Exuma is not practical then taking a speedboat for the day would be ideal. Given our Airbnb listings' close proximity to Paradise Island (2 miles) and your timeline they emerge as a definite favorite. It's approximately a 55 minute ride from Nassau to Exuma and their day trip option includes drinks, food, snorkeling equipment, etc.
