Located in the complex next to McPier convenience store, so an easy walk. Yes, a bit of a dive, but clean and also good. We love the pizza and salads. Quick and easy. They'll have the game on TV as long as you tell them what channel it's on.

Perhaps our favorite in the neighborhood, this crazy crooked building is a holdout from the old rustic dockworker days complete with shiny new buildings wrapped around it because they refuse to sell out! Also where Tonya Harding's plot to assault Nancy Kerrigan was discovered, fittingly, in their dumpster. The food (especially breakfast) is crazy awesome.

Back in the 90s they used to serve Robitussen-filled donuts with Rolaids crumbles on top that you could chase down with a Pepto-latte for that hangover you just about died from. A bit less illegal and a tad more surgery, you now have to wait in a long line, but it's worth it.

Go out the front door and head south past the Steel Bridge to enjoy jogging, walking, biking, skateboarding, fountain play, lunching, basketball, fireworks viewing, Segwaying, boat watching, sunrises and sunsets. Due to its recreational use, lunch hours are peak-use hours for the waterfront park. In addition to recreational use, the park is also highly used by bike and pedestrian commuters during rush hours because the park is easily accessible to the downtown Portland workforce and provides a pleasant, off street thoroughfare away from vehicular traffic. It is currently home to the Waterfront Blues Festival, Oregon Brewers Festival, Gay/Lesbian Pride Festival and the Bite of Oregon.

Named for the extinct pearl slug, the only pearl-producing slug to exist, killed off by an overzealous mayor who covered the neighborhood with salt to break up an ice storm. Now it's an industrial neighborhood of high end lofts, fancy shops, and art galleries made famous by Portland's First Thursday art scene. Just steps from your door.
