Where to eat, drink, shop and get entertained
Barranco and Miraflores are full of options to enjoy food, from upscale restaurants to street food, with quirky cafes and cocktail bars in between. The options are so many that we will limit to mentioning the ones closer to the apartment and a few further away but worth visiting.
How to get to Miraflores: After exiting the building, cross Av. Grau towards Chipoco Stadium and walk about two blocks north along Av. Grau, you will pass the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC). You will cross the bridge over Quebrada de Armendariz and you will find yourself in Miraflores. On a clear summer day, you can see the ocean, choose one of the quiet residential avenues like Av. La Paz to take you to the heart of Miraflores or take the scenic route along the Malecon.
Downtown Barranco is teeming with night life options (some of them detailed in the food section).

Located 2.5 blocks south of the apartment next to the America Television Studio. This is a very popular spot for traditional Peruvian cuisine with a modern flare. The ambiance is relaxed and it has some outdoor seating available in the front.

This is an all-you-can- eat buffet place mostly frequented by locals. Very lively and loud, but an excellent choice if you want to taste authentic Peruvian food and you have a big appetite.

This is what is called a “huarique” (hidden place, “hole in the wal” in quechua) a “hidden” neighborhood spot with great food (it does not have a website!!, but they are on google maps). It is an old garage converted into a restaurant that serves a different dish every day. Famous for “sancochado” on Mondays and rabbit with orange sauce (which is the only dish they serve every day). It just does not get more Barranco than this!. Not luxurious, but definitely an experience. The entrance is simple, and has a sign above that says CAFÉ TOSTADO…that’s it 😊

This shopping mall located on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean gives you stunning views specially during the summer. We mention it in the food section because there are several excellent options there (Mango’s, La Trattoria di Mambrino, Tanta). On top of that there is a movie theater, a disco and of course shopping with many luxury brands available. It is obvious why Larcomar is one of Lima’s most popular spots for locals and tourists alike. From Larcomar you can take Avenida Larco to go to Miraflores’ downtown.
