Drinks & Nightlife

Hidden gem... a quiet alternative to Northwinds where you'll always find great beer. The people there are always friendly as well. Just an fyi though they don't currently serve food or other drinks... just damn good beer. On Friday's between 5 and 8 p.m., enjoy 1. $5 pints and 2. Cask beer.

Northwinds is very much a gastro pub. The head chef came to Northwinds from Oliver & Bonacini. $5 pints up until 6 p.m. (but not a minute after). Friday cask beer - different kind every week. They sometimes have live entertainment as well... but you mainly go for impressive selection of beer (usually 12-14 on tap at any time) and decent food.

Great source for local entertainment you might normally expect to find in a big city, including Juno Award winning performers and edgy plays that are a nice alternative to yet another British comedy or who dunnit!

Although Huron has a fairly modest beer menu compared to say Northwinds, they offer decent live music every weekend and the quality of their food is quite good.

Everything Else

Great drop in place for yoga classes ranging from relatively easy intro sessions to full on level 2-3 classes. Hot yoga and combination spin/yoga classes are quite popular here. Weekends are always busier... but good thing is you can book online and see how many people will be in the class. Great teachers; very friendly; highly recommended.

Arts & Culture

Above the Tremond Cafe you'll find a bunch of small, intimate artist studios whose work ranges from original oil and watercolour paintings, to sculptures to hand crafted jewellery. Often you'll have a chance to meet with the artists and see them at work. A must see when visiting Collingwood.

Surprisingly large, bright, spacious and modern... a great place to explore books, read the latest papers and magazines and unwind. With plenty of oversized windows and all kinds of seating, there are no shortage of quiet, comfortable places to read.

First rate Italian food with an adjacent store that has everything from pasta and sauce to gelato. While the food is definitely worth the visit, it can get incredibly busy and the seating can be tight, especially on weekends. You'll likely want to book in advance.

Great authentic Italian food... some would argue as good as Tesoro, but in a more spacious setting.

Parks & Nature

Great spot spring, summer and fall for a stroll. Small beach area... plenty of space for picnics. Visit the iconic Inukshuk sculpture where you'll have great views of the harbour and town looking to the west and you'll see a faint outline of Wasaga Beach to the east.

Between Collingwood and Thornbury, this park - although close to the highway, is a favourite spot for visitors looking for an easy drive and swim. Unlike Wasaga Beach, it's a shale rock beach, but all in all a very cool, relaxing setting.
