Portmerion Village is a hotch potch of mostly Italian 16th and 17th century Villas which were shipped over in the early 19th century and built into a hillside in Wales, by an eccentric architect called Clough Williams-Ellis,
It really is a quirky unusual place and the walks and views are just stunning too.

It really is a quirky unusual place and the walks and views are just stunning too.
One of our favourite things to do is a walk along the nature trail by the canal from Llangollen to Trevor. (it's a 5 mile walk)
For those less mobile of who want an easier trip, why not go on the canal boat that leaves every couple of hours.
You can walk over the Pontycyslet Aquaduct which spans the river Dee 200 feet up and gives breathtaking views.

If you set off early then Snowdonia national park is doable in a daytrip and its such a great day out with plenty to see and do from walks to climbing with Betws y Coed a great place for a spot of lunch.
