We love On the Rise because there is literally no better croissant to be found in the city. The back story is that a young couple goes to Paris on their honeymoon and come back to Cleveland , deciding to become bakers. I personally think that they bake the best and most authentic French bread in Cleveland and the best thing is that you can walk to it from the Herban Inn!

I was reminded once again by our last Herban Inn guest about this remarkable little restaurant nestled in University Circle. We've always loved L'Albatros for it's convivial atmosphere, great bar and unpretentious, yet totally wonderful French food. Get the smoked salmon if they have it and the chilled leeks with mustard sauce. If you're vegetarian, there are plenty of great options. We love the vegetarian cassoulet that they serve..in fact Beth says it's her favorite midwinter comfort food! In the snow free months, their patio IS perfect!

L'Albatros
11401 Bellflower RdI was reminded once again by our last Herban Inn guest about this remarkable little restaurant nestled in University Circle. We've always loved L'Albatros for it's convivial atmosphere, great bar and unpretentious, yet totally wonderful French food. Drinks & Nightlife
Not only is Gigi's a great little restaurant featuring salads, panini's, an excellent cheese plate and a fabulous wine list, but attached is a great little nightclub. The drinks are great, the music is retro and the whole place has a great little French Bohemian feel to it. Another wonderful gem within walking distance!

Fresh juices, top shelf alcohol and brilliant mixologists make this a wonderful place to just get away for a drink and in the pleasant months, the patio is really hip and fun! Severance Hall is the home of the world renowned Cleveland Orchestra fondly known to native Clevelanders as "The Best Damn Band in the Land!" It is located down in University Circle which is literally an 8 minute drive from the Herban Inn. If you are traveling with kids, you can often get student tickets. Don't miss it...it's absolutely gorgeous and there is a restaurant that serves very good meals before every concert.

This is a great Whole Foods. It's literally 5 minutes away from the Herban Inn! If you choose their 365 brands, I find them to be very budget friendly. They're open until 9:00 pm which is really a very nice convenience!
