Rurikei Gorge, a natural park designated as a place of scenic beauty by MEXT, is 500 meters high and 4 kilometers long with its water source in the deep mountains. Facing Tsuten Lake upstream lie waterfalls and rocks appropriately named after each characteristic location in the Rurikei gorge, including 12 scenic spots such as "Meibaku," "Soryuen," "Gyokusoban," and so on. The gorge, which has beautiful plateau scenery in all four seasons, is also called the Karuizawa of the Kansai area and attracts many visitors.
