Food Scene
The Peckham Pelican do authentic Italian style pizzas with 4 toppings for £8-£9, eat in or take out. They are also a bar, serving beer, wine, a few cocktails, and coffee and tea. They do bagels and sourdough toast with a range of things (eggs, bacon, avocado etc.) in the morning, but we haven't tried these yet.
They are very connected with the nearby Camberwell Arts College, and have a very quirky range of exhibitions, film viewings, and musical performances.
We love having them 2 minutes walk from our apartment!

Persepolis is a vegetarian, middle eastern foodie haven. They sell every imaginable spice and ingredient, and have a small café where they serve recipes from their bestselling cookbooks. Persepolis and it's owners have been here for 20 years and are an absolute institution. Their food is cheap and the flavours authentic and amazing. We highly recommend dropping in at some point during your stay!

We highly recommend dropping in at some point during your stay!
No67 serves a great range of a la carte meals, as well as having a breakfast/brunch menu, and a good selection of pastries and cakes. You can eat in or take away, and the coffee is excellent. It's a great place to fuel up in the mornings, two minutes from your front door, before heading off to explore London!

The Begging Bowl is a recent addition to the Bellenden Rd food scene. They serve a small but every changing menu of authentic Thai dishes, capturing the flavours of Thailand beautifully. They are open for both lunch and dinner.

Goose Green has a great children's playground, one of the largest around, and is usually full of local kids. There are a good range of cafes and an icecream parlor just around the corner on East Dulwich Rd.

Victoria Station is a 15 minute train journey from Peckham Rye Station. It is your gateway to the West End, and is right next door to Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, St James Park, and Green Park. Strolling in one direction will take you to Knightsbridge and Harrods, definitely worth a visit if just to see the incredible food halls. In the other directly is Whitehall, Big Ben, Westminster Cathedral, the Churchill War Rooms, and the Houses of Parliament. This part of London is just a continuous stream of iconic buildings and places, and we recommend spending a day just walking around and taking it all in.

The Gallery owns one of the finest collections of Old Master paintings in the world, especially rich in French, Italian and Spanish Baroque paintings and in British portraits from Tudor times to the 19th century. Famous works include those by Rembrandt, Gainsborough, Poussin, Watteau, Canaletto, Rubens, Veronese and Murillo amongst many others.
We recommend a visit, nearby Dulwich Park is lovely, and College Rd has some really nice spots for lunch.

The Grand Union is all about cocktails, burgers, chandeliers, and wallpaper. But mostly its about cocktails - they don't just have happy hours, they have happy days! They also do a main meal with all the prosecco you can drink for £25.
