Keep your expectations in line...it's Subway....great reasonably priced sandwiches (I'm partial to the toasted pastrami melt). Quick and tasty.

The new Far Western in Old Orcutt. Beautifully done, still the best steaks but now with a bit of California cuisine on top. Not the same as the OLD Far Western - if you want edgy, go to Elmers.

Well worth the 15 minute drive to Buellton. Red oak grilled steaks and chops. Try the grilled artichokes! And one of the Hartley-Ostini Pinots!

The original HP, longer drive, harder to get to, but you need to eat there at least once in your life. Open pit red oak grilled steaks, chops, quail (!)...wonderful Central Coast traditional food.

Just a short drive and well worth a visit. Wonderful, interesting pizzas and sandwiches, locally sourced, "tail to snout"-type casual dining. I eat there regularly.

I think it's sold out but the sparkling Syrah Rose (Sonja's Suds) is seriously tasty. Viognier is pretty good too. Try them all!
