I always go running there. Its a 15 mins walk or a 5 mins jog to get there. Very popular in summertime, you will see a lot of people barbecuing or just hanging out on the lawn. There is a small lake, childrens playground & a cafe. Open air cinema in July & August. You will pass a lot of cafes and restaurants on your way there (via Hufelandstraße).

I always go running there. Its a 15 mins walk or a 5 mins jog to get there. Very popular in summertime, you will see a lot of people barbecuing or just hanging out on the lawn. There is a small lake, childrens playground & a cafe. Open air cinema in July & August. You will pass a lot of cafes and restaurants on your way there (via Hufelandstraße).

Also it goes along the Spree river which gives it a nice atmosphere. You could just sit by the shore and watch boats pass by or rent a pedal boat yourself. Don't miss "Insel der Jugend" (Island of Youth) a small island in the river Spree.

One of the few small bakeries still left in Berlin (not part of a bigger chain). They are in Prenzlauer Allee (3 mins walk from the house) next to the lidl supermarket and have a second store in Winstraße. They also have a good choice of cakes.
