is a lovely place to catch the sunset, and close to The Kindred. You can walk here then have dinner at Mama Dough right nearby at the Ainslie Shops - or just raid the wonderful cheese isle at the IGA and head back to The Kindred to enjoy it with a bottle of wine.

Walk or drive up here for a great vista of Canberra as Walter Burley Griffin designed it. Also wonderful to watch the sun set over the Brindabellas.

Neighbourhoods

Braddon is Canberra's most sought-after suburb for its vibrant foodie scene, boutique shops stocking Canberra-region goodies from local makers and its close proximity to the city centre and lake. The Kindred is an easy, 5-minute stroll through the lovely Haigh park to Lonsdale Street, home to all the good stuff. For a fancy meal, eat at Corella or Eightysix North, grab brunch at Gather or visit one of the food trucks for fun and casual evening fare. The weekly Sunday markets at Haig Park are also a must for fresh produce, food and gifts.

Food scene

The Ainslie shops are a short stroll from The Kindred. Home to Pilot, one of Canberra's most coveted fine-dining restaurants (book early!), Mama Dough for authentic, Italian-style pizzas, and Ainslie IGA for the city's best cheese isle. There are also a couple of pubs and an excellent bottle shop stocking local-region wines.

City/town information

I grew up in Canberra, and love sharing the best bits of this city with our guests to help make their stay wonderful. Hit me up for suggestions - whether it's adventures with kids, the foodie scene, retail therapy (Canberra is home to wonderful makers with ceramics and art galore), wineries or hard core mountain biking. Whatever floats your boat, I'm happy to help.
