Overall the best spot is...

Obviously I'm biased, but I feel that Penzance is the best Cornish town in terms of what it has to offer! Endless boutiques, Art Galleries, Cinema, Outdoor Lido, coffee shops and outstanding restaurants and wine bars. I'll list a few of my favourites places to go in this guide and the rest you can discover yourself!

Sightseeing

Marazion is a quaint village next door to penzance and its home to the infamous St Michaels Mount. This is a National Trust Castle that is on its very own island, of which you can see from Penzance itself. If the tide is out then you can walk over yourself, and if not then simply catch the water taxi across. It's not to be missed.

A spot of Theatre

The Minack Theatre is a simply unique experience that can't be missed if you're one for the theatrics! The Minack is set atop the cliffs of Porthcurno and is an open air Theatre, it's so much fun and it's bring your own food and drink so its a great opportunity for a picnic. It's also next to the most beautiful beach in the UK - Porthcurno and Pedn Vounder beaches.

Beach day

Hands down my favourite beaches, aside from Gwithian, Porthcurno and Pedn Vounder beaches are simply stunning and voted the best in the UK. They're situated next to each other and accessible via the coast path which can take you all the way to Logan Rocks if you fancy a walk. The Minack Theatre is also nestled into the cliffs above, if you fancy making a day and night of it!

This sandy beach has probably the calmest waters ever as it stretches across the bay of Penzance and Marazion, connecting the two. A perfect spot for paddle boarding, kayaking and swimming, and you can walk all the way from the promenade at the bottom of Queen Street, next to my home. It has a brand new boardwalk, that connects Marazion to Penzance, and Penzance to Newlyn and you can walk all the way to Mousehole if you fancy!

Great Cafe spot with a heated pool if you fancy a dip

This is a MUST VISIT: It's the UK's largest Art Deco Outdoor Lido and one of the pools Geo thermally heated, making it an outdoor spa day! If you don't fancy a swim, its also an incredible foodie spot. The Cafe serves absolutely delicious food and coffee and the location is second to none in the sunshine. I highly recommend this place.

Cafe of dreams

The Honey Pot is quite literally at the top of my road and its such a quaint cafe that serves the most delicious breakfast, lunch, cakes and coffee's. It's my favourite cafe of all time, and truly compliments a day of pottering around the shops.

Fancy a coffee or cocktail?

Lovetts is a fabulous wine bar and cafe spot based in the centre of Newlyn. It's a teeny place, so tables are limited, but they serve toasted sourdough sandwiches in the day time and only the best wines in the evening.
