Sightseeing

One of the most charming towns in the Vale D’Itria. Ceglie Messapica has a quiet and historic feel, and you can spend hours getting lost in the beautiful maze-like paths in the historic centre. But don’t be fooled - Ceglie also boasts one of the best food scenes in the region and comes alive in the summer with many public events. These are usually focused around the beautiful main square, the Piazza Plebescito. We would be happy to offer any recommendations on somewhere good to eat - there are too many to choose from!

The Vale D’Itria is famous for its ‘trulli’ cone houses which you will see dotted across the countryside, but Alberobello is unique for being a town center made up almost exclusively of trulli. This has rightly made it a UNESCO protected site (though it has attracted many more tourists as a result).
