Getting to Central London
Walk to Hackney Downs Station (3min walk), take the train to Liverpool Street and connect to the underground for the Central/Metropolitan/Hammersmith and Circle lines. Or walk to Hackney Central Station(5min walk), take the train to Highbury and Islington and connect to the underground for the Victoria line.

I definitely recommend getting a weekly travelcard for Zones 1 and 2 (£38). This will cover you for overground, underground and bus services. Seems like an expense but is the most economical way to get around the city.
Also, I recommend downloading the Citymapper app to help you navigate the city. It gives you the most effective routes to any destination.
