The Ring of Bells or affectionately known locally as ‘The Ringers’ (1.2 miles) is a 20 - minute walk through the country lanes from Coddiford Corner. An award winning, bustling pub and restaurant with a lovely warm atmosphere, they also do takeaways. Please note, there is a steep incline both on the way and also on the way back. How to walk there: Out of Little Coddiford gate, turn left and follow the road to the T-Junction. Turn left up the steep hill. Take the second turning on right (it does still keep climbing but you will be rewarded with amazing views across to Dartmoor at the top of the hill). Drop down into the village and turn left, you will find The Ring of Bells on your right. Please check all websites for opening times and we would recommend booking. https://www.theringofbells.com/

If you are after a place to visit to while away part of the day then this place might be just for you. Topsham is on the outskirts of Exeter nestled in the River Exe Estuary about 40 mins from Coddiford. Full of independent shops, an antique centre, quaint alleyways which lead you done to the estuary and walks along the river. The Circle cafe does amazing coffee and cakes with The Salutation Inn does great lunches in the Glasshouse. There are a couple of car parks, a small one on the High Street and one larger one at the far end of the shops.

A great day out to Clovelly and a walk to Black Church Rock. Clovelly is a beautiful, picturesque fishing village, steeped in maritime atmosphere and history. It was once owned by the Queen of England! Originally the estate was owned by William the Conqueror, King of England, gifted to his wife and then had many royal associations until 1242 when first acquired by the Giffard family. Until the middle of the 19th century Clovelly was unknown to the outside world. There is an entrance fee.
