Fred Gingell Park is quite literally a hidden gem. From the street it’s easy to miss it altogether, but if you follow the small, winding path to the lookout platform, the real beauty of the park becomes quickly apparent. The lookout offers vistas of the Strait of Georgia and the Gulf Islands and is an ideal spot to watch the sun sink into the horizon.
The park is also home to one of Tsawwassen’s best kept secrets: the hidden stairway down to the beach. The terrain and steepness of the stairs make it a mini-Grouse Grind for fitness enthusiasts year-round. On sunny days, you’ll notice numerous people walking or jogging up and down the stairs on the 50-meter-high cliff to get a great workout. So bring your running shoes and plenty of water and see where this path leads you.
